Rob ‘n’ Pete’s Swing Thing is just about the hottest band on the London swing dance scene. At venues such as 100 Club, C Jam and Jitterbugs this five-piece really know how to keep the dance floor packed with their swing, blues and Latin sounds. If you want to be King Of The Swingers or shuffle along the Sunny Side Of The Street then head to Paternoster Square and Let The Good Times Roll!

Led by the lovely American songstress Kai Hoffman, swingin' retro band Kai's Cats has a fabulous line up of some of London's hottest jazz players. A Festival favourite with a following of swing dancing devotees, Kai’s Cats are also known for their long standing residency at Ronnie Scott's Bar, recently voted a Time Out Critic's Choice Event.

Kai’s Cats play a mix of jumpin’ jive, swing and early rock and roll. In the style of great jazz entertainers such as Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan and Nat King Cole, Kai’s Cats accessible and melodic swinging tunes are fun to listen to and even more fun for dancing.

Renowned for their high energy jump jive music - the exciting sound where swing meets rock ‘n’ roll, the Jive Aces are the UK’s top jive and swing band. Together for over a decade, this hugely popular six-piece has performed at thousands of festivals, theatres and events throughout the UK, Europe and USA, as well as Japan, Israel and the Caribbean.

Jive Aces combine a mixture of fresh arrangements of swing, jive and R & B classics - songs made famous by such greats as Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Big Joe Turner and Sammy Davis Jnr - along with a selection of superb swinging originals.

Their latest album Recipe for Rhythm features guest appearances from Chick Corea, Mark Isham, Mr Acker Bilk, Toni Elizabeth Prima and others and is produced by three-time Grammy award winner, Emmanuele Ruffinengo.

Just enter Regent's Park where Hanover Gate meets the Outer Circle.Then take the the first path on your right.This will take you past the Children's Boating Pond on your left.We'll be in our picnic oasis under the coverage of two interlocking trees, in front of the Boathouse Cafe.

The series of summer picnics continues next month at Regent's Park with fresh new music and live entertainment! If the weather has a tantrum I should have an alternative venue, so keep alert for the latest info on venue details on this page or my back-up mobile: 07910 028 075

2. DJs and new playlists to bring a new taste of music to your picnic experience.

3. The thrilling suspense of unknown weather!

4. A beautiful part of Regent's Park with all essential facilities nearby (after many hours research).

5. Dancing in the dappled sunshine of shading trees.

6. Continuous swing music from a swing-beat boom-box.



You bring:

1. Yourself, friends & family.

2. A favourite swing track or two to play.

3. Food & drink, maybe even some to share!

4. A fierce determination to have a fun, relaxed attitude.

5. A blanket, suntan lotion, sunglasses, umbrella, wellies and a hoodie!
