A Midsummer’s Night Swing & In Full Swing

Posted at 10:53 am by in Events

Swing is definitely taking hold in London, reflected by events taking place in the coming weeks organised by Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.

A Midsummer’s Night Swing is part of the Barbican’s 101 things to do this summer. Set at the newly refurbished Stoke Newington Town Hall on the 16/17 June, the Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchestra will be playing big band tunes under the helm of Guy Barker. What’s more, you’re invited to dance. Tickets cost £25 each night.

Meanwhile, the Royal Albert Hall opens its doors for a unique 5,000 square foot dance floor for In Full Swing on Friday 9 July. With The Jive Aces, Back to Basie Orchestra and Top Shelf Jazz playing tunes all evening, you are invited to dress up in your best 40s outfit and join in with the dancing. Dancing only tickets cost from £25, tables can also be reserved at extra cost.

So two wonderful evenings of swing to come and even more from others yet. We’ll keep you posted here!
