SDL is also supporting Rock-a-Hula, organised by Jen Walke. Imagine Rock ‘n’ Roll mixed with hula hoops and you get the idea (or maybe not!). The cause she is raising funds for is for an event called The Fete Encounter which is a touring live art platform based on the village fete which explores audience participation in a genuine, innovative way to help more people experience live art. It is not for profit, and has received Arts Council England funding and so far this summer provided opportunities for artists (about 8 per event) to experiment and get paid for their time at 5 different arts/music/mixed festivals. The event takes place on Thursday 11 December, and if you bring a hula hoop, you get in for free!
